A new workshop exploring the role of artificial intelligence in the future of radio astronomy will be held at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh on 19–20 March 2026. The AI in Radio Astronomy Workshop: Preparing the UK for the SKA Data Future will bring together researchers from across the UK to discuss how AI and data‑driven methods will shape science with the SKA Observatory.
Jointly organised by the UK Astronomy Technology Centre, the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics and the UK SKA Regional Centre, the event will focus on scientific drivers for AI, the technical infrastructure needed to support future workflows and the policy considerations required for responsible, transparent use of machine learning in astronomy.
Abstracts are invited until 23 February, with registration open until 10 March.
