The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) have been celebrating the hard work of the amazing apprentices across the organisation.

The first ceremony was for apprentices from the UK Astronomy Technology Centre and Daresbury Laboratory.

The awards are a chance to recognise winners who have been nominated by their colleagues, managers and peers. But they are also a chance for our apprentices to share their own experiences with each other.

UK ATC's Eilidh Fraser won the Impact Award, which is presented to an apprentice who stands out from their peers and has made noteworthy achievements in their area of expertise. In particular her manager, Graham Wilks, highlighted Eilidh's contributions designing and creating collateral for Doors Open Day 2023 and her role promoting inclusion and diversity.

Eilidh Fraser said: “This was very unexpected. I've learned a lot since being here and while my work is very hands on I also enjoy communicating ideas to people. I'd like to thank Workshop and extended colleagues for their support during my apprenticeship."

Graham Wilks, UK ATC ESG Manager, said “Massive congratulations to Eilidh for her outstanding win. Her commitment and valuable contributions at UK ATC mean she very much deserved this win for her hard work, enthusiasm and dedication."
